Recycle Recipes - A useful survival mod that will add a lot of recipes and crafting options that didn't exist before. Also now you can do reverse crafting of items and blocks. There’s a point in almost every Minecraft survival world when the chests start filling up with things you don’t quite know what to do with. Spare slabs from an unfinished roof, an old lantern you replaced, blocks left over from a building project—none of them are particularly valuable on their own, but throwing them away feels wasteful. Recycle Recipes gives many of those items another chance by adding crafting and smelting recipes that let you turn them into something useful.

The idea is simple: take materials you already have and find a new purpose for them. Instead of leaving extra building pieces in a chest indefinitely, you can use certain recipes to make blocks from slabs or change existing pieces into other shapes. This is especially handy when you’re experimenting with a house and keep changing your mind about the design. Made more slabs than you needed? Some of them can be turned back into full blocks, giving you more freedom to adjust the build without heading out for another stack of materials. There are also additional stonecutter recipes for working with stairs, slabs, and walls, so it’s worth checking what your leftover pieces can become.

RECIPES

Smelting has a role to play too. Items such as lanterns and soul lanterns can be placed in a furnace or blast furnace to produce iron nuggets. Copper chains, copper lanterns, lightning rods, and spyglasses have recycling uses as well, producing copper nuggets when smelted. You won’t necessarily get every resource back, so it’s still worth thinking before you put something in the furnace. But when you have an item you no longer need and could use a little extra metal, the option is there. It makes the contents of an old storage chest feel a bit less permanent: something you put away weeks ago might now help with the project you’re working on today.

Recycle Recipes also adds ways to craft items that normally don’t have ordinary crafting recipes. The selection includes chainmail armor, horse armor, bells, saddles, tridents, totems of undying, and even elytra. That doesn’t mean you can make them out of whatever happens to be lying around: each item has its own recipe and required ingredients. You’ll still need to collect materials and figure out which recipes are worth pursuing. If there’s an item you’ve been hoping to get but haven’t come across during your travels, it’s worth checking whether you can make it yourself. The add-on gives you another route to those items while keeping gathering and crafting part of the process.

Builders have plenty to look through beyond recycled slabs. Additional recipes cover blocks such as mossy cobblestone, mossy stone bricks, grass blocks, rooted dirt, and packed mud. There are options for plants and other decorative materials too. That can come in handy when you need a particular texture for a garden path, an overgrown wall, or the area around a new base. Rather than making a long trip every time you run short of a block, you may be able to prepare more at home from ingredients you’ve already collected. Check the recipe before you begin, though: different blocks and items use different combinations, and not every material can be converted into anything you want.

What makes the add-on useful is how easily its recipes fit into everyday play. You don’t need to build a complicated recycling factory or learn a separate system before you can start using them. Open your crafting table, try the stonecutter, or see which unwanted items can go into a furnace. Some recipes may become part of your regular routine; others might only matter once, when you’re a few blocks short of finishing a roof. Either way, it gives you a reason to look through those crowded chests before setting off to gather more resources.
