Lamps & Lanterns Addon many new items for lighting in Minecraft. Get different lanterns and lamps in your game.
Wooden lamps are a natural choice if your base already has timber walls and floors. Try placing one near the entrance, adding a few to a hallway, or using them to light a room where you keep your crafting table and storage. The wood helps the light source feel like part of the house instead of something you put down only because the sun was setting. You can also experiment with different wood designs to find one that works with the blocks you’ve used. A lamp that looks right in a dark spruce cabin might feel completely different inside a bright oak house.
Copper lamps and lanterns offer another look, especially if you’ve used copper elsewhere in your build. They can suit a workshop, a town street, or an entrance that needs something more noticeable than a torch. Copper changes color as it oxidizes, so its appearance can become part of the design. You might like the warm look of fresh copper in a newly built home or prefer an older, weathered style for a building that’s been standing in your world for a long time. The addon also includes lamps made with materials such as quartz and amethyst, giving you more options when decorating a brighter or more unusual interior.
Stone lanterns can be a good match for paths, courtyards, and older-looking buildings. A stone bridge leading to a castle, for example, feels much more welcoming at night when you can see where you’re going. You could use lanterns to mark the route from your front gate to the village, light the edge of a garden, or make the entrance to a mine easier to spot after a long trip. Different stone designs give you a chance to choose something that fits the surroundings, whether you’re building with cobblestone, stone bricks, or a lighter material.
The new lights aren’t just for creative projects. They can be crafted and used in a survival world, so you can gradually replace the temporary torches around your base as you gather materials. Start with the front door, then work on the rooms you spend the most time in. Later, you might give the farm its own lighting or make the path between buildings easier to follow after dark. The crafting recipes depend on the light you want to make, so check the recipe book as you collect materials and see which designs are available to you.
Lighting can change the way a familiar place feels. A large hall might need several lamps spread along its walls, while a small bedroom may only need one or two to feel comfortable. Try looking at your build at night and pay attention to the spots that are difficult to see or feel unfinished. You don’t have to replace every torch at once; sometimes one well-placed lantern is enough to make an entrance stand out. To get started, import the addon and activate its resource and behavior packs in your world settings, then choose a few lights that fit the place you’re working on.
