SCP: Lockdown Retake Mod / Addon

Mods 1.26 / Mods 1.21

The SCP: Lockdown Retake mod drags the creepy SCP universe straight into Minecraft Bedrock, and it’s packed with enough weirdness to keep you on edge. At first this project was meant to just remake the original SCP: Lockdown addon, but it’s turned into its own beast with new ideas, models, and mechanics. It’s still in development, so expect some rough edges and texture changes along the way, but even now there’s plenty of content to dive into.

For example, SCP-173 (the statue) moves whenever you’re not looking, SCP-096 goes berserk if you stare at its face, and SCP-049 stalks players like a hunter. These three alone can flip your survival world into a straight-up horror experience, but there’s more to discover if you’re brave enough.

I tested it in a dark underground lab build, and it was terrifying. Hearing SCP-096 scream in the distance or catching a glimpse of SCP-173 when I turned around gave me chills. If you’re into horror mods or just want to see Minecraft Bedrock in full SCP chaos, SCP: Lockdown Retake is worth checking out — just don’t expect to feel safe anymore.

The statue across the room hasn’t moved. Turn away for a second, though, and SCP-173 might be much closer when you look back.

SCP: Lockdown Retake brings creatures from the SCP universe into Minecraft Bedrock, where recognizing what you’re facing can matter as much as the gear you’re carrying. SCP-173 moves when you break eye contact, while SCP-096 reacts if you see its face. Then there’s SCP-106, which can teleport toward its target when it can’t reach them normally. These aren’t encounters you can approach with one simple plan: staring at one creature is exactly what keeps it still, while looking at another is the mistake that starts the chase. SCP-173 is especially nasty in tight spaces. Imagine backing down a hallway while trying to keep the creature in view, only to reach a doorway you need to open. Every turn of the camera becomes a decision, and losing sight of it at the wrong moment could be your last. The addon’s description also notes that looking slightly up or down can sometimes count as breaking eye contact, so be careful when testing the encounter. With SCP-096, the problem is different: you’ll want to avoid seeing its face altogether. Spotting it in a room may give you a moment to plan a route, but getting a better look could be the worst move you make.

The addon also includes facility-style blocks and equipment for building your own containment site. You can put together secure corridors, observation areas, and rooms for the anomalies, then decide what kind of scenario you want to play. Special tools let you connect buttons to doors and adjust components such as keycard readers and levers. That gives builders something to do beyond placing creatures in an empty box: you can design a facility where moving from one section to another feels like part of the challenge.

A multiplayer world opens up plenty of possibilities. Give one group the job of exploring the facility while others take on roles as guards or researchers, or build an escape route and see whether your friends can make it through. You’ll have to set up those scenarios yourselves, but the combination of eerie hallways and unpredictable encounters can make for a tense session. Just think carefully before putting SCP-173 somewhere everyone needs to pass. A narrow corridor becomes a lot less convenient when nobody wants to be the first person to turn around.

SCP: Lockdown Retake is a good fit for players who want more than another monster to hit with a sword. Its creatures encourage you to pay attention, learn their behavior, and think about how to get out alive. The project was discontinued, and its description warns that some bugs and unfinished details remain, so expect a few rough edges while exploring.

the game is chill until it randomly decides you’re fighting for your life in a cave with one torch left
