Bedrock Chunk Loader Mod is for technical players who build stuff that should keep working, but vanilla reality hits the moment you walk 200 blocks away and everything freezes. This addon introduces chunk loader blocks that keep designated areas active even when you’re off exploring, so your farms don’t pause, your item sorters don’t stall, and your automation doesn’t feel like it only works when you’re babysitting it.
The core mechanic is persistent chunk loading. You place a chunk loader and it keeps an area loaded, simulating that “always-on” behavior builders need for serious setups. The system has a configurable radius from 2 to 6 chunks, which translates into active areas from 5x5 up to 13x13 chunks. That means you can tune it for a small, focused farm zone or a bigger base hub depending on how heavy your build is and how much performance headroom your world has.
The mod also makes it really obvious what’s happening. Chunk loaders show status with animated textures: active loaders display a green tick (✓) and emit light level 10, while inactive loaders show a red cross (✕) with no light. On top of that, floating text above each block shows the current status and owner info, so you’re not guessing which loader is yours or whether it’s actually doing its job.
If you run a realm or server, the admin tools are the real power feature. There’s an admin panel accessible via /mygen:chunkloaders that lets admins control chunk loaders world-wide. You can set max loaders per player (1–20), set the default chunk radius, view details for every loader (including location and placement time), toggle specific loaders on or off, teleport to loaders to inspect them, and even globally enable/disable all chunk loaders for performance management. That’s exactly the kind of control you want when a world starts getting crowded with automation and you need to keep it from turning into a lag museum.
Protection is handled too. Only the player who placed a chunk loader can remove it, unless someone has the chunk_admin tag. That stops random griefing where someone breaks your “keep the base alive” block and your whole system quietly dies. As for getting chunk loaders, you can grab them in creative or craft them with an expensive but fair recipe using diamonds, ender pearls, and a beacon, so survival worlds still have a real cost barrier before they go fully always-on.
Practical tip: be smart with radius. Bigger active areas are awesome, but they can also keep a lot more stuff running than you intended. Use smaller radii for focused farms, keep loaders away from massive mob-packed areas unless you mean it, and on servers set sane per-player limits so one player doesn’t accidentally keep half the world loaded. BedrockChunkLoader is basically the “my builds should keep working” upgrade for Minecraft Bedrock—persistent chunk loading with clear visuals, owner safety, and admin-grade controls.
