Nico's Block Expansion Mod adds more decorative blocks to your Minecraft. Download for free and you can craft them in the game world. Decorative blocks can be useful for you in survival.
Your storage room is overflowing with sticks, books, and plants, but every chest looks exactly the same. Nico’s Block Expansion lets you turn some of those supplies into useful blocks that can also give your Minecraft Bedrock builds a lot more character. Stack books in a library, bundle sugar cane near a farm, or leave a pile of sticks beside a workshop to make the place look like someone actually uses it. These compacted blocks aren’t just for show: many can be crafted back into their original items when you need them. That makes them handy for saving storage space while keeping materials visible around your base. A pile of supplies by the door can be part of the build and still have a purpose the next time you run short.
The linked version adds plenty for players who like collecting plants and decorating outdoor spaces. Leaf litter, tall dry grass, bushes, hanging roots, and pale hanging moss can be packed into blocks or bales. Gather nine of the relevant item to craft its compacted form, then turn it back into nine items when you want the materials again. Flower piles offer another way to bring color into a garden or market stall, including piles of wildflowers and cactus flowers. Try mixing them with paths, fences, and ordinary vegetation to make a busy little farmyard. A few bundles near a greenhouse can make it look like you’ve been out gathering all morning, even if you actually spent that time fighting skeletons in a cave.
Builders also get more options for stonework. The addon includes stone tiles, pillars, and brick variants that can help break up a large wall without changing its entire color scheme. Use a mix of finished and cracked blocks to give an old tower some history, or try polished stone around an entrance that needs a cleaner look. Some blocks can be smelted into cracked versions, giving survival builders another way to prepare materials for a ruined castle or an abandoned mine. The variety is useful indoors, too: a few well-placed pillars can separate a storage hall from a crafting area without closing either space off. Experiment with combinations before committing to a huge build; sometimes the block you only meant to use as an accent ends up becoming your favorite part of the room.
Several compacted materials have practical uses beyond storage. In version 1.17, many flower piles and plant bales can go into a composter or serve as furnace fuel, while blocks of charcoal and blaze powder provide fuel options. That gives you a reason to save the extra materials left over after decorating. The linked page offers version 1.17 as either one .mcaddon file or separate resource and behavior packs. Open the file or both packs to import them into Minecraft, then enable the resource and behavior packs in your world settings. This release is listed for Bedrock 26.10 and later, so check compatibility before updating an existing world. After that, pick a corner of your base and see what a few new blocks can do for it.
