Just Normal Cats – Addon / Texture Pack is a straight-shooting Bedrock port of SR400X’s Java pack that makes village strays and your tamed buddies look, well… normal—cleaner fur, consistent tones, and a cohesive style that still reads as pure Minecraft Bedrock. No gimmicks, no goofy redraws—just cats that fit every build from medieval towns to modern cafés without stealing the scene. Just Normal Cats gives Minecraft Bedrock’s cats updated models and textures, with changes for ocelots too. If your base already has more cats than storage space, this pack gives you another reason to stop and admire them.
The redesign keeps the animals recognizable while giving their appearance a refresh. Familiar coat types remain part of the appeal, so you can look for a favorite calico, black cat, ragdoll, or tabby and see how it looks with the new artwork. Take a moment to view your pets from different angles, especially if you’ve had the same companions around your home for a long time. It’s a small change, but one you’ll notice often when cats are part of your everyday survival routine. Coming home from a trip and seeing them waiting inside can make a house feel more like a place you’ve settled into.
The pack changes both the model and texture, giving you more to notice than a different coat color. It uses 16x artwork, keeping the pixel scale close to Minecraft’s usual style. That makes it an appealing option for players who want their pets to fit naturally into the world they’ve already built. You could try it in a rustic cabin, a modern apartment, or a busy village and decide where you like the cats best. If you enjoy decorating interiors, having a few pets around can also help you judge whether a room feels welcoming. A beautiful living room is still missing something until a cat decides it belongs there. You might want to compare an ocelot with the domestic cat designs in a creative world, where you can take your time inspecting them. In survival, simply encountering one during your travels can be enough to appreciate the difference. There’s no need to make a separate project out of every visual change. Sometimes it’s pleasant to discover a refreshed animal while you’re busy doing something entirely unrelated.
For builders, Just Normal Cats could be a good excuse to finish a pet-friendly corner of your home. Add a little seating area, leave space near a window, or design a cat café if you’re in the mood for a larger project. Those are things you can build yourself around the pack’s updated look. You could also take pictures of your existing pets and choose a favorite design, although that might become difficult once you’ve spent time with several of them. Give each one a name, find somewhere comfortable for them to stay, and enjoy having them around during ordinary sessions. Your next mining trip can wait a minute while you check on the cats.
I ran it through a fresh survival seed and a creative test world. First stop: a plains village. The strays wandering the market looked unified instead of a grab bag of clashing textures, so screenshots came out nicer without me posing anything. After taming a pair (classic fish sprint), I parked them in a spruce cottage and the palette sat perfectly with the wood and leaf blocks—no neon, no muddy patches, just solid “vanilla but polished” vibes. Same story in a city map: line a counter with a few cats and the room feels alive without the textures shouting over your build.
Under the hood, it’s resource-only. That means zero behavior changes, zero spawn tweaks, and your achievements stay on. All the usual cat variants and mechanics still apply—find strays in villages and witch huts, tame with fish, sit/stand, breed, the works. You’re just getting cleaner coats that play nicer with shaders, RTX, or whatever texture stack you already run. If another pack also edits cat textures, put Just Normal Cats higher in your load order to make its look “win.”
If you want your world to look put-together without losing that classic feel, this is an easy install: familiar cats, better presentation, perfect for survival bases, roleplay servers, and screenshot junkies alike.
Installation:
- Download Texture;
- Open the downloaded .mcpack to install;
