Mobile Phones Addon a working smartphone to the game Minecraft. You can craft it in survival and receive real-time notifications on the phone in the game. Your friend has found a village, someone else is working on a house, and you’re halfway down a cave wondering whether anyone brought extra torches. Mobile Phones gives players a way to keep in touch during moments like these by adding a working smartphone to Minecraft. You can craft a phone in survival and use it to send messages to friends, with notifications appearing as messages arrive. It’s a small addition to the game, but it fits naturally into a world where everyone tends to wander off in a different direction. One player can stay at the base while another explores, and they can still share what they’re doing without having to meet in person. The phone also feels right at home in modern city builds, where carrying a little piece of technology makes everyday roleplay more convincing.
The phone is most useful when you’re sharing a world with other people. Say you’ve found a good spot for a settlement and want to let a friend know what you’ve discovered, or you’re collecting wood while someone else prepares a building site. A quick message can help you coordinate without interrupting the trip back and forth between locations. You might use it to ask whether the group needs more iron, agree on a place to meet, or tell everyone that dinner is ready at the base. The real-time notification makes a message easier to notice while you’re busy with something else. It’s a fun detail when a quiet mining session is interrupted by a friend asking what happened to all the cobblestone. Of course, you can also use the phone for conversations that have nothing to do with the next big project.
Because the phone can be crafted in survival, it has a place in an ordinary long-term world as well as a purpose-built roleplay map. Make one as part of your group’s preparations, then carry it while you go about your usual tasks. It won’t gather materials or fight monsters for you, but it gives you another way to talk about those adventures as they happen. In a town, players could use their phones to arrange a visit, check on a shop, or invite neighbors to a new build. In a shared survival world, they might send a quick update after finding a cave or deciding to head home. The phone’s usefulness depends on what your group makes of it, which leaves room for both practical messages and the sort of silly conversations that tend to develop when friends play together.
To try Mobile Phones, download the add-on file and open it with Minecraft to import it. Then enable its resource and behavior packs in the world settings before starting your game. Once you’ve crafted a phone, invite a friend into the same world and try sending a message while you’re both working on different things. You can keep the test simple: have one player stay at the base and the other walk out to explore, then see how the phone fits into your usual routine. It’s a particularly good match for groups that enjoy building towns or playing out little stories together, but it can be just as welcome during a regular survival session. After all, sometimes the most useful message in Minecraft is simply a friend reminding you to bring a bed.
Installation Mod:
- Download the .mcaddon / .mcpack;
- Open the file to import into the game;
- In World Settings → Resource Packs and Behavior Packs, enable it (turn on Experiments if needed);
- Have fun!
