Auto-Plant Saplings Addon

Chopping down entire forests for wood in Minecraft always leaves a massive mess, and honestly, nobody actually takes the time to replant every single sapling manually. Over time, you just end up with completely bald patches of dirt and ugly, stripped biomes right around your base. The Auto Plant Saplings addon fixes this annoying loop by letting the environment take care of itself.
When you chop trees or leaves decay naturally, any saplings that drop onto grass, dirt, or moss blocks will automatically plant themselves back into the ground after sitting there for a bit. Instead of just floating as item entities until they despawn and go to waste, they turn back into actual growing trees on their own. This changes how you gather wood, especially for huge charcoal setups or massive building projects where you need chests full of logs. You can just clear-cut an entire forest, grab your wood, and walk away knowing the trees will regrow without any extra clicking on your part.
Since the mod relies on tracking dropped item entities on the floor, you just need to enable experimental gameplay toggles in your world settings before loading in. The script is super lightweight, so you won’t get lag spikes or frame drops even if a giant jungle tree drops dozens of saplings all at once. It runs perfectly fine on private realms and local multiplayer worlds too, keeping the landscape green no matter how many players are harvesting wood.
Installation Mod:
- Download the .mcaddon / .mcpack;
- Open the file to import into the game;
- In World Settings → Resource Packs and Behavior Packs, enable it (turn on Experiments if needed);
- Have fun!
