Polite or Paranormal: DoorKnock Addon
Let’s be brutally honest. Casually barging into your friend's house without warning or aggressively spamming a button to trigger their loud redstone doorbell gets annoying really fast. Vanilla Minecraft completely lacks a simple, immersive way to announce your arrival. If you are tired of breaking your friends' windows just to get their attention while they are crafting inside, you need the DoorKnock addon.

This incredibly lightweight mod does exactly one thing, but it does it flawlessly. By simply holding crouch and interacting with any door, instead of swinging it wide open, your character will perform a sharp, realistic three-tap knock. It leaves the door completely closed while playing a distinct audio cue that anyone inside can hear. It is a tiny mechanical tweak, but it completely changes how you interact with bases on a multiplayer server.

Nothing ruins server immersion faster than violently punching an oak slab or spamming open-close sounds just to let your buddy know you’re standing on their front porch, which is why the DoorKnock Addon is the exact touch of roleplay polish your world has been missing.

We have all dealt with this exact awkward situation a thousand times. You run across the biome to deliver a stack of iron to your teammate’s massive custom mansion, walk up to their entrance, and suddenly have zero civilized ways to announce your arrival. Your only real options in vanilla gameplay are jumping on their pressure plates like a maniac, breaking blocks, or typing in the server chat while praying they actually read the text box. It feels completely clunky and shatters whatever aesthetic vibe you were trying to build. This lightweight MCPE behavior pack completely fixes that social blind spot by turning standard base entrances into actual interactive doorbells with custom sound effects.

The mechanic is ridiculously intuitive and feels like something that should have been patched into the base engine years ago. You don't have to navigate a messy sub-menu or craft some weird, convoluted redstone gadget that takes up half your wall. When you approach any closed door, a simple click or screen tap triggers an authentic, crisp wooden knocking audio cue that instantly echoes inside the interior. The audio falloff is calibrated so people chilling inside the living room or organizing chests down in the basement will actually hear you outside without blowing out their eardrums. It adds an instant layer of hospitality—or pure tension, depending on who is standing outside your bunker late at night.

Since this mod is literally designed for player interaction, using it in a solo survival world makes absolutely zero sense. You have to load this up on a massive City Roleplay map paired with a Proximity Voice Chat addon. The dynamic of actually walking up to an apartment, knocking on the door, and waiting for an answer from inside makes your server feel like a real, populated world. It is also a massive tactical tool for hardcore Horror Maps or Murder Mystery games. Hearing a sudden, aggressive knock on the wooden door right outside the closet you are hiding in will legitimately give you a heart attack.

Stop rudely barging into people's bases, learn some manners, and start knocking!
