Skill Points Addon is a new level development in the game and skill tree in Minecraft. This Minecraft Bedrock add-on gives experience levels another purpose: character progression. Every time you reach a level divisible by ten, a skill menu appears and offers you a choice of upgrades. Hit level 10, pick an ability, then keep playing until your next milestone. You might spend that first point on Strength because you’re tired of being chased out of caves, or choose Speed because you spend half your time running between distant builds. The choice is yours, and it gives those XP orbs from mining, smelting, and fighting mobs a little more meaning.



Level 10 usually means you’re a little closer to your next enchantment. With Skill Points, it also means you get to choose how your character becomes stronger.

The skills draw on Minecraft’s status effects as well as custom abilities, so there are different ways to shape your character. You can spread your choices around or pick the same skill again to increase its effect. Put several upgrades into Strength and you’ll hit harder; focus on Speed and getting around your world can feel noticeably different. There’s no fixed limit on stacking skills, which leaves plenty of room for ridiculously powerful builds if that’s what you’re after. Just be careful not to turn your character into a rocket before you’ve figured out how much speed you can actually control near a cliff.

Some upgrades come with an extra surprise. When you receive a skill upgrade, there’s a chance that a separate reward menu will appear, offering an item bonus. Possible rewards range from a humble stick or shield to more exciting finds such as a diamond sword, enchanted book, mace, or Totem of Undying. The rewards have different chances, so don’t count on walking away with a totem every time. It’s a fun little bonus when it happens, especially if you’re still gearing up and an unexpected piece of equipment comes in handy. Your main decision is still the skill itself: think about what you’ll use most on your next mining trip, building project, or adventure.

For a shared world, the system gives friends a reason to develop different strengths. One player can lean into combat while another chooses abilities that suit exploring; you don’t have to agree on a single build for the whole group. The add-on also has a configuration menu, opened with /function skillpoints_config, where you can adjust options such as skill availability and whether skills are kept after death. That last setting is worth checking before anyone takes their newly improved character somewhere dangerous. Skill Points works without experimental toggles and is designed to play alongside other add-ons, making it an option for an RPG-inspired survival world. Keep gathering experience, choose the upgrades that fit your adventures, and see where your next ten levels take you.
