Hydration Logic Mod / Addon

Hydration Logic Mod makes survival feel more “managed” by adding thirst on top of hunger. You get a hydration bar shown in the Actionbar above your hotbar, and it drops over time. If you’re sprinting, it drains faster, and the Nether makes it deplete quicker too, so fast travel and risky biomes suddenly have a real cost. If your thirst hits 0%, you don’t just get mildly annoyed—you’ll get Slowness and Nausea and start taking damage over time, so ignoring hydration will eventually wreck your run.

The water quality system is where the mod gets spicy. Not all water is safe: you can drink directly from river or pond water by sneaking inside the water, but it’s dangerous because there’s a chance you’ll get Poison and Nausea. Regular water bottles are safer for quick refills, but they can still make you sick with food poisoning (Hunger), so it’s not a free reset button. The safe route is Purified Water, which you make by smelting a Water Bottle in a furnace. Purified Water restores a huge 50% thirst and it’s 100% safe, so it becomes your reliable “stock up before a big trip” option.

Hydration Logic Mod also ties thirst recovery into a bunch of vanilla items so it doesn’t feel like you’re stuck drinking nonstop. Milk Buckets recover 20%, stews and soups give 25%, fruits like apples and melons give 15%, and berries give a small 5%. That changes how you pack for exploration: instead of only thinking about food, you start thinking about thirst value too. A practical move is keeping Purified Water as your main refill and using foods like stews or fruit as “top-offs” when you’re low but don’t want to risk dirty water or a normal bottle sickness roll.

If you want to tune how punishing the system is, the mod has difficulty settings controlled through chat commands by typing !hydration. Easy locks thirst at 100% so it never decreases, Normal runs at 0.5x speed for a more relaxed survival vibe, Hard is standard speed, and Extreme is 1.5x speed for a hardcore feel where sprinting and Nether trips will drain you fast. Hydration Logic Mod is great when you want Minecraft Bedrock survival to feel more strategic—planning routes, managing sprinting, and treating clean water like real preparation instead of an afterthought.
