Floating Text Mod is basically a builder/admin quality-of-life pack for anyone who wants their world to feel organized and “server clean” without doing a bunch of redstone or awkward workarounds. The main idea is simple: you can modify or remove any floating scoreboard or floating text that appears in a loaded chunk, and whatever changes you make apply instantly in the world. That instant feedback is huge, because it means you can stand in the exact spot, tweak the display, and see right away if it looks good from a distance or if it needs to be moved.

One of the coolest parts is the “Fixed Player Names” system. Player names are saved permanently in a local data store, so scoreboards keep showing the correct saved name even if someone is offline. The mod specifically says the text “Offline Player” will never appear. If you’ve ever tried to keep a leaderboard looking clean on a realm or server where people log in and out constantly, you already know why that matters. It keeps your hub area, spawn, or minigame lobby from looking scuffed.



For floating scoreboards, Floating Text Mod lets you create customizable floating leaderboards by selecting a scoreboard objective, then fine-tuning how the whole thing is displayed. In actual gameplay, the best move is using floating text to guide players naturally—spawn directions, “shop this way,” “parkour start,” “do not break blocks,” stuff like that—so people aren’t constantly asking what to do. And since it’s coordinate-based, you can line it up clean above doors, over paths, or right in front of key locations without guessing.
