The Last Dragon Mod / Addon

Mods 1.26 / Mods 1.21

The Last Dragon Mod — a huge tameable, rideable dragon that basically turns your survival world into “air base + sky travel” mode.

Wild dragons and dragon eggs actually spawn naturally, so you don’t have to craft some weird summoning item to see the content. If you spot a wild dragon, the tame method is straight-up food bribery: cooked chicken, cooked beef, or cooked porkchop. So the early-game move is easy—set up a tiny animal farm, cook stacks, and you’re ready the second you find one. If you find a dragon egg, that’s the other route: you right-click the egg with flint and steel to “light” it, then you wait about 5 minutes. After that timer, it becomes tameable, so it’s basically a little incubation moment—protect the area, don’t wander off too far, and treat it like a mini-event in your base.

Once you’ve got your dragon, you can gear it up: put a saddle on it and you’re airborne. The flying controls are simple and clean: look up to climb, look down to descend, so it feels like you’re steering with your camera instead of fighting clunky buttons. In survival, this is massive for quality-of-life—scouting biomes, finding villages, mapping coastlines, and moving between builds without burning rockets or building a million bridges.

Quick survival tips (no weird made-up stuff, just practical play): carry extra cooked meat for re-tames/backup, keep the egg in a safe spot while it’s “cooking,” and don’t trust your first flight over lava or the void until you’ve tested how the dragon handles turning and landing. The Last Dragon Mod is basically the kind of addon that makes every long travel session feel like a flex, especially on Realms with friends watching you pull up from the clouds.
