Shield Bash Mod / Addon

Mods 1.26 / Mods 1.21

Shield Bash Mod flips the usual shield role on its head. Instead of being a pure defense item you only pull out when something’s trying to ruin your day, this addon turns your shield into a mining tool when it’s in your off hand. The idea is simple: use the shield to take out blocks faster than a pickaxe, kind of like that Hytale-style vibe, and let the shield’s durability take the hit so your pickaxes stay in good shape.

In a normal Minecraft Bedrock survival session, that changes how you move through the world. You can treat the shield like a “work mode” tool for quick digging, clearing paths, and carving out space without constantly burning through pickaxe durability. It’s especially handy when you’re doing base prep—flattening an area, opening up a hallway, or cleaning up a messy cave entrance—because those jobs are usually a thousand small swings that chew up your gear.

The multi-block mining angle is where it starts feeling extra satisfying. Being able to mine more than one block at a time makes clearing out spaces feel faster and more rhythmic, like you’re actually blasting through a project instead of chipping away at it. The tradeoff is fair: your shield loses durability, so you’re paying a real cost for the speed. A practical way to use Shield Bash Mod is to save shield mining for the “bulk work” moments—clearing stone, opening tunnels, or building big rooms—then switch back to your regular tool flow when you’re doing precision stuff or trying to keep everything neat.

The addon also calls out full compatibility with other add-ons, which is nice if your world already has a bunch of extra content running. Just keep your survival balance in mind: mining faster can speed up progression a lot, so if you want the world to still feel challenging, focus that extra efficiency on building bigger projects rather than rushing straight to endgame gear. Shield Bash Mod is best when it turns mining into a fun, aggressive workflow while keeping your pickaxes fresh for when you really need them.
