Skull Powers Addon: Mob Head Abilities

Mods 1.26 / Mods 1.21

Skull Powers Addon: Mob Head Abilities is built around a simple idea that instantly makes combat feel more rewarding: mobs aren’t just XP and random drops anymore. Every kill has a chance to pay off with something you actually want to equip. The addon adds a script-driven system where zombie, skeleton, and creeper kills can drop a mystical skull, and those skulls come with supernatural abilities when you wear them. It’s basically an RPG helmet system that turns routine fighting into “okay, maybe this next one drops the good stuff.”

The drop system is called out as “magic” and automated. It calculates chances on its own and you don’t need Looting enchantments to make it work. The stated chance is 5% to 20% for zombies, skeletons, or creepers to drop a skull with a particle effect, which means you’ll feel it early without having to grind for a specific enchant setup. In Minecraft Bedrock survival, that’s a big deal because it makes your first nights and cave trips more exciting—combat can directly upgrade your kit before you’ve even built a full base.

The starter skulls give passive abilities, and the addon constantly checks your helmet slot to apply them. A Zombie Skull gives Strength and Night Vision, which is huge for early survival since you can fight more confidently and move through caves without relying on torches for every step. A Skeleton Skull gives Speed and Slow Falling, which is perfect for traversal and building, because you can move faster and take height risks with way less fear of accidentally deleting your run with a fall.

Then there are pro skulls with active triggers, like the Creeper Skull. While wearing it, you crouch (sneak) to trigger a massive explosion. The addon says you’re protected from the blast, but nearby enemies get wiped, which turns it into a defensive panic button that can flip a bad situation into an instant clear. That kind of ability changes how you play because you start thinking about positioning—if you’re going to detonate, you want enemies close and your own valuables or farm mobs not in the danger zone.

Unlocking the higher-tier drops is its own system. To obtain powerful Wither, Creeper, and Dragon skulls, you need to unlock the Pro Collection through a small in-game ritual: hold a bone, crouch and use the item to open a Ritual Panel, then enter an Ancient Rune and submit the code to unlock high-tier drops. Skull Powers Addon: Mob Head Abilities is at its best when you’re doing normal survival combat but chasing that “one more fight” feeling, because every kill can turn into a new helmet power that changes how you move, mine, and survive in Minecraft Bedrock.
