Blocklings Mod / Addon

Mods 1.26 / Mods 1.21

Blocklings Addon of a new teammate and helper mob block in Minecraft. These are small living block helpers. A block of dirt usually isn’t much company. You dig it up, put it in a chest and forget about it until you need to fill a hole. With Blocklings, though, you can meet little creatures inspired by familiar Minecraft blocks and bring them along as companions. They have their own appearances and abilities, and some can help with the work around your base or join you when you head out exploring.

The blocklings come in different forms, so it’s worth paying attention to each one you meet. A Dirt Blockling, for example, is associated with growing saplings, while a Hay Blockling can help with crops. If you spend a lot of time looking after fields and expanding your farm, having a little helper nearby makes those familiar routines feel different.

There are other companions to discover as well. The Iron Blockling can help with mining, and the Lapis Blockling has an ability connected to storing experience. An Obsidian Blockling can help smelt materials, while a Shroomlight Blockling acts as a living light source. Each one gives you a reason to learn what it can do and decide where you’d like it to accompany you. A companion that’s useful around your base may have a different role from the one you want beside you during an adventure.

Not every outing is peaceful, of course. Some blocklings have abilities suited to combat, giving them a way to help when hostile mobs get too close. The Diamond Blockling focuses on dealing damage, while other companions offer different kinds of support. If you’re planning a trip into unfamiliar territory, think about which helper you want to bring and what you might encounter along the way. It’s still a good idea to carry your own armor, food and weapons; a companion is much more enjoyable to travel with when you’re prepared to look after yourself too.

The creatures can be tamed, and once you’ve made a friend, you can have it follow you or sit and stay in place. That’s useful when you want a companion nearby while you work but don’t want it wandering off with you every time you leave the room. You could keep a farming helper near your fields, bring another along on a walk and make a comfortable space at home for the rest. There’s also a breeding system if you want to grow your little group over time.

Part of the fun is seeing these familiar materials become characters in their own right. A living block following you through the grass looks a little funny at first, especially if you’ve spent years walking past the ordinary kind without a second thought. Give yourself time to get to know the different companions and try out their abilities around your world.

Blocklings is an add-on for anyone who likes having company during survival. Your helpers can be there while you plant crops, gather materials or head out on a longer journey. You might start by bringing home one that catches your eye, then gradually make room for a few more as you discover what each of them can do.
