Let’s be completely honest. The vanilla lighting system is an absolute chore. Running out of wood deep inside a massive cave system and having to blindly stumble through the dark because you can't craft any more torches is incredibly frustrating. Spamming hundreds of torches all over the walls just to see where you are going is a completely outdated mechanic.

The Craftable Survival Flashlight mod completely modernizes your underground exploration. For the insanely cheap early-game cost of just one iron ingot, one redstone dust, and a single block of glass, you get a fully functional, portable dynamic light source. You simply hold it in your hand, and it instantly illuminates the area around you as you walk. It allows you to naturally navigate through massive ravines, ancient cities, and twisting mineshafts without constantly stopping to place blocks, keeping your momentum and your survival immersion completely intact.

Since you now hold a literal flashlight, using it just to safely mine iron ore is a massive waste of its atmospheric potential. You absolutely must pair this mod with a True Darkness resource pack, which completely removes the game's base light levels and makes unlit areas 100% pitch black. Load this setup directly into a hardcore Abandoned Asylum or Zombie Apocalypse custom map. Creeping down a pitch-black, silent hallway with nothing but a single beam of light cutting through the darkness completely transforms Bedrock Edition into a top-tier survival horror experience.

Stop wasting your inventory space on stacks of torches, craft a flashlight, and step into the dark!

Installation Mod:
- Download the .mcaddon / .mcpack;
- Open the file to import into the game;
- In World Settings → Resource Packs and Behavior Packs, enable it (turn on Experiments if needed);
- Have fun!
