Competitive Speedrunning: Item Hunt Addon
Vanilla survival often gets boring once you have full gear and a secure base. This addon changes the core gameplay loop by turning your entire map into a continuous scavenger hunt. As soon as you load in, the game assigns a specific target item directly on your screen. Your only goal is to track down that exact block or drop and get it into your inventory as fast as humanly possible.
The mod includes a built-in stopwatch UI that stays on your screen. The timer starts at zero the moment a new target item appears. You have to run around, craft, mine, or loot whatever is necessary to grab the required material. The clock freezes the exact second the item hits your hotbar or inventory slots. It forces you to think fast about crafting recipes, mob drops, and biome locations. You aren't just casually building a dirt hut; you are actively speedrunning random tasks.
Playing solo is decent for practice, but the system is built specifically for multiplayer servers and Bedrock realms. Every single player gets their own unique item assigned to them, along with a completely independent timer. You can actively race your friends to see who clears their list the fastest without anyone stepping on each other's toes. There is no central menu to configure, no complicated command blocks to wire up, and no lobby setup required. The addon handles all the stat tracking automatically behind the scenes.
When you finally secure the correct item, the mod triggers a quick visual victory celebration effect to let you know you cleared the stage. Right after that, the UI resets. A brand new item challenge pops up, the clock wipes back to zero, and you start the hunt all over again. It gives you a constant, rolling set of short-term objectives. You can drop this into a fresh seed to make the early game chaotic, or load it into an existing save just to mess around and compete for the best times.
