Vanilla Hammers Addon is a very useful tool - a hammer that destroys walls and 3x3 blocks in Minecraft. A long mining session usually means breaking one block after another until your tunnel finally reaches the right size. Vanilla Hammers makes that work a little easier. The addon introduces hammers that mine a 3×3 area, so you can clear a wider section without going over every block separately. They’re useful when you need room for a mine, an underground base, or simply a large amount of stone for your next building project.
There are six hammers to work toward, using familiar materials such as wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite. That means you can begin with a basic tool and make a better one as you gather resources. Check the recipe book when you obtain new materials to see which hammer you can craft. Like pickaxes, the hammers have different levels of durability and mining speed, so the one you choose may depend on how far you’ve progressed and what you’re planning to mine.
The 3×3 area is especially useful when you’re making tunnels. Instead of digging a narrow passage and then going back to raise the ceiling, you can clear a wider space as you move forward. It also comes in handy when you want to carve out a storage room beneath your house or prepare a large area for a build. Keep a regular pickaxe nearby for places where you need more control. A hammer clears more space at once, which is helpful in a mine but can be inconvenient when you’re working close to walls or blocks you want to keep.
You can improve the hammers with Unbreaking and Fortune, giving you another reason to hold on to a tool you use often. Unbreaking can help it last longer, while Fortune is worth considering when you’re gathering resources. The hammers have more durability than ordinary pickaxes of the same materials, but they can still wear out, so check their condition before heading deep underground. Bring a spare tool and some food, too. A wider tunnel makes mining easier, but it won’t stop lava or hostile mobs from appearing on the other side of the next wall.
To install Vanilla Hammers, import both the resource pack and the behavior pack into Minecraft, then activate them in your world settings. Once they’re ready, gather the materials for your first hammer and try it somewhere with enough space. You may find that a project you’ve been putting off—such as digging a proper mine or clearing room for an underground hall—is much easier to start when you can open up a larger area at a time.
