The Courier Spirit Mod / Addon

The Courier Spirit Mod fixes one of the most annoying survival moments: dying far away and realizing your stuff is either impossible to find or you’ll spend forever running back. With this addon, when you die, a Lost Soul spawns, picks up your items, and travels to your respawn point (your bed or world spawn). When it arrives, you just walk near it to get your items back, or interact with it to reclaim them. It even works across dimensions, so if you die in the Nether and respawn in the Overworld, the soul will still follow and bring your gear home.



In-game, the best part is how much it changes risk. You can take bigger exploration trips, dive deeper into caves, and do dangerous Nether runs without that constant fear of losing everything to one bad moment. It doesn’t remove the punishment of dying completely, but it cuts out the “I lost my gear because I couldn’t reach the spot in time” frustration. The soul also gives you useful info: it displays your name and item count, and it shows an ETA when it spawns, so you’re not guessing whether your stuff is actually coming back or where it is.

The mod also handles messy situations. If you die again before reclaiming your items, it can track multiple souls. Souls despawn after 5 minutes if not claimed, so you still need to pay attention and not ignore them forever. There’s also a risky option: you can hit the soul to drop some items early, which sounds like a way to grab essentials faster if you’re in a hurry, but it also means you’re choosing to manage drops manually.

Control is done through /scriptevent commands. You can pull up help with soul:help, check settings with soul:status, and switch movement behavior using soul:mode . The default smart mode navigates around obstacles, while ghost mode phases straight through blocks. You can also set travel speed with soul:speed <0.05-1.0> and list active souls using soul:debug.

Practical tip: keep your respawn point consistent if you’re doing dangerous trips. Since the soul delivers to your bed or world spawn, setting a safe bed location turns this mod into a reliable “gear courier” system instead of sending your loot to a random spot.
