Last Breath: Ultimate Hardcore Survival (Bleeding & Infection) Mod is designed for players who feel like vanilla hardcore gets too comfortable once you’re geared. Instead of “get diamond armor and coast,” this addon makes survival feel like the world is actively trying to finish you off. It does that by adding a medical system that tracks your health in real time and punishes sloppy fights in ways armor alone can’t fully protect you from.

The first layer is Bleeding. When a mob hits you, there’s a chance you start bleeding, and you lose health continuously. That turns small mistakes into real emergencies, because you can’t just shrug off a hit and keep sprinting like nothing happened. The cure is specific and risky: you have to stop moving and crouch (sneak) for 5 seconds to bandage yourself. In actual Minecraft Bedrock play, that forces discipline. You need to create space before you heal, or you’ll get hit again while you’re stuck trying to bandage.



The second layer is Viral Infection. Zombies carry a virus, and if they bite you, a 60-second countdown starts. The cure is immediate and simple but stressful: drink a milk bucket right away, or you take fatal damage. That creates a whole new inventory priority. Milk isn’t just “remove effects” anymore, it’s your emergency antidote, and if you leave base without it, you’re basically gambling that you won’t get tagged at the wrong time.

Then there’s the long-term punishment system: Death Ban. You start with 3 lives, and every death burns one. If you lose all lives, you don’t just respawn and move on—you enter a “Purgatory State” where you’re blinded and can’t move or play for 10 minutes. The mod frames it as time to sit there and think about your mistakes, and whether you love or hate that, it makes deaths feel expensive in a way normal hardcore doesn’t.

Practical tip: this addon changes what “prepared” means. Don’t take fights in tight spaces where you can’t create distance to bandage, and don’t treat zombie encounters like free XP unless you’re carrying milk and have an exit route.
