Look & Change Addon is a mega challenging survival challenge. Now all blocks will randomly change when you look at them. Looking around is usually the safest thing you can do in Minecraft. With Look & Change installed, it’s also enough to change the world. Point your crosshair at a block and it instantly turns into a random one. That tree you were about to chop? The block you’re looking at may become something else before you can reach it. The same goes for the ground, the walls of a cave and the blocks you’ve just placed. It’s a simple rule, but it makes even the first few minutes of survival feel strange.

Gathering materials takes some getting used to. Normally, if you need wood, you find a tree and start chopping. Here, you’ll have to think about where you aim as you approach it. The block you intended to mine might change, leaving you to work with whatever appears instead. You could get something useful, or you might end up with a material that does nothing to help you make your first tools. There’s no way to plan around a particular result, so much of the challenge comes from adapting to what’s in front of you. Even a short trip to collect supplies can leave the landscape looking rather different from when you arrived.

Building a shelter becomes an adventure of its own. Imagine placing a few blocks for a wall and then accidentally aiming at one while you turn around. Suddenly, part of your carefully chosen design is something else entirely. A tidy little house may be difficult to keep tidy, and that first night could involve more improvisation than usual. Rather than spending ages choosing the perfect spot, you might be better off concentrating on the essentials: somewhere to take cover, enough food to keep going and a way to deal with mobs. How neat everything looks can wait until morning.

Look & Change can also make a good challenge to try with friends. Start a fresh world together and see whether you can build a shelter, gather equipment or reach a particular location while the terrain keeps changing under your crosshairs. You could set a goal before you begin, such as making a small base or surviving your first night, and compare how each of you handles the unexpected materials. It’s easy to imagine one player carefully working on a wall while another turns around and changes a block by accident. Agree on what you’re trying to accomplish, then see how far you get before the world starts interfering with your plans.

Since the addon changes actual blocks, it’s best to try it in a new world or a copy of one you already have. That way, you can experiment without worrying about a favorite build being altered when you look around it. Give yourself a little time to get used to the crosshair mechanic, because habits that normally help you play can cause trouble here. Once you understand what’s happening, the fun is in seeing how you manage when the resources and surroundings you expect don’t stay the way you found them.

Installation Mod:
- Download the .mcaddon / .mcpack;
- Open the file to import into the game;
- In World Settings → Resource Packs and Behavior Packs, enable it (turn on Experiments if needed);
- Have fun!
