Nightmare Mode - Wave Survival Addon hardcore survival game when you are attacked by waves of monsters.
Nightmare Mode turns the quiet part of a Minecraft night into a fight against ten waves of monsters. There are diamonds and other rewards waiting if you survive, but getting through the final wave means facing a Warden in the dark.
To begin, wait until night, hold a regular book, and sneak to open the menu. Choose “Start Nightmare when you are ready. Your surroundings become difficult to see because of darkness and blindness effects, while cave sounds add to the uneasy atmosphere. Then the mobs begin appearing around you. It is worth getting your armor, weapons, and food ready before starting: once the fight begins, you may have trouble seeing what is coming from more than a few blocks away.
The first wave gives you zombies to deal with, but the enemies become more dangerous as you progress. Skeletons can attack from a distance, cave spiders add another threat at close range, and creepers are particularly unpleasant when visibility is poor. Blazes also join the fight, while later waves bring wither skeletons and phantoms. By the time you reach the tenth wave, you will have a Warden to overcome. Familiar mobs can feel much more threatening when several are approaching from the darkness and you cannot easily see where they are. Strange messages appear in chat during the fight too, adding a little extra tension when you are trying to concentrate.
Surviving all ten waves earns diamonds and bottles of experience. Reaching wave eight or higher also brings Netherite Scrap, giving you something valuable to aim for even as the battle becomes more difficult. There is a streak system for players who win multiple nightmares in a row: consecutive victories increase the diamond and experience rewards. Keep that streak going and each new attempt becomes more tempting, though dying will reset it. That gives you a decision to make when you are low on supplies: try for another win or spend some time preparing before taking the risk.
There is also a rare Void Nightmare. Each time you start a challenge, there is a one-percent chance of entering this special encounter. If you survive it, the usual rewards are multiplied by five. It is an unexpected bonus for players who return to the mode regularly, and the possibility gives each attempt a little more suspense before the first enemy appears. Whether you get an ordinary nightmare or the rare event, you will want to think about how you are going to handle both the early mobs and the much tougher final fight.
In multiplayer, the book menu includes a leaderboard that tracks victories, current streaks, and mob kills. Players can earn ranks as they complete more nightmares, with milestone rewards along the way. You and your friends can compare results and see who manages the longest run without losing a streak. Nightmare Mode is a good choice when you want a combat challenge with a clear goal: prepare your gear, start the encounter, and see whether you can make it through all ten waves.
