Circuits & Machines Mod feels like the kind of pack you drop into a survival world when you want your base to turn into a full-on workshop instead of just a chest room and a furnace corner. It adds a ton of new blocks and items (with more planned later), and the vibe is clearly “build infrastructure, craft components, and keep upgrading.” You can start simple with utility blocks like Asphalt, Block of Road, Runway Block, and Hyper Runway Block, all giving different speed increases, with Hyper Runway being the fastest and listed at 150–300bps. That alone makes travel and building big city-style roads feel way more intentional, because you’re not just sprinting across grass anymore—you’re laying down an actual movement system.
The mod also pushes resource gameplay into a tech loop. You’ve got the Mine Block as a simulation of natural ores and underground mining (mine and place), plus an Oil Rig that produces oil, Oil Deposits, raw Oil, and an Oil Refinery Station that refines oil into Fuel. If you’re the type who likes setting up production lines, this pack basically hands you the “extract → refine → craft” rhythm for a survival world. On top of that, storage and building gets heavier-duty options like Bunker Block and Reinforced Glass (both blast-resistant and hard to mine), plus Metal Plate blocks and rotatable plate sides for that industrial base look.
A lot of the crafting backbone comes from compression and components. Compressed Stone and Compressed Cobblestone let you compress 9 blocks up to 3-fold for recipes, while higher-tier crafting parts like Wires, Electrical Component, Circuit Board, Advanced Circuit Board, AI Chip, screws, rods, sheets, light bulbs, and batteries make it feel like you’re actually assembling machines rather than magically crafting super gear out of nothing. There’s also the whole “weird science” lane: Singularity, Negative Particle, Quantum Particles [A B C], a Quantum Accelerator (decorative and crafting for fusing quantum particles and super materials), and a Singularity Block made from compressed singularities.
For gameplay, the gear progression is stacked. You’ve got Steel Armor and Tools as durable mid-to-high gear, Carbon Fiber Armor as high level, then Singularity Armor and Sword, and finally Infinity Armor and Sword as the top tier, with the sword listed at 20 damage and a note that armor effects may be added later. Tools lean into “rechargeable tech”: a Drill for fast mining stone and dirt, a Chainsaw for fast wood chopping, both rechargeable with Energite, and combat gadgets like the Taser and Overcharged Taser. The Overcharged Taser can summon lightning with right click as a last resort and uses up the weapon, then can be repaired/recharged using energy cores, which is the kind of thing you save for “oh no” moments instead of casual fights. There’s also the Flash Bang Projector, which when held or in the offhand emits a huge ball of light that makes you difficult to attack but also makes it hard for you to see—so it’s a double-edged tool for messy caves, night travel, or chaotic base defense.
Then there’s the economy/utility layer with the Trade Terminal, used to purchase products online with bitcoins, and the Bitcoin Miner block that mines bitcoin (you mine the block to get bitcoin). Megawick Crop and Megawick add a super fuel angle too, with Megawick being a mycelium crop you harvest and use as fuel, and you can buy it from the online trade terminal, with growth simulated by mining and placing it. That’s a very “sandbox tech pack” approach where you’re building systems and loops, not just farming wheat forever.
Finally, it throws in actual entities so it’s not all crafting menus. You can spawn and drive a Car (with components like gearboxes, tires, steering wheels, and fuel involved), and you can summon a Robot Wolf—a powerful robotic wolf you tame with bones that fights for you. In a survival world, Circuits & Machines Mod shines when you play it like a builder-engineer: lay roads for movement, set up oil production for fuel, craft up through circuits and energite, and treat the high-power weapons and armor like late-game toys you unlock after you’ve already built the infrastructure to support them.
