Smart Auto-Torch Mod / Addon

Smart Auto-Torch Mod is for every player who’s sick of running caves like a human torch dispenser. Instead of spamming right-click every few blocks, this addon watches the light level around you and, when it gets properly sketchy, it places a torch behind you automatically. You just walk, mine, fight, loot—by the time you turn around, your path is cleanly lit and you didn’t have to think about it once.
The smart part is that it doesn’t waste your resources. Before dropping a torch, the addon checks a small radius around you for real light sources—lava pools, lanterns, glowstone, whatever you already placed. If the area is bright enough, it does nothing and lets you keep your torches. That means no random torches under glowstone veins, no double-lighting mineshafts, and no weird spam all over finished builds. It even tells caves apart from shady tree spots, so walking under a giant oak at noon doesn’t suddenly start burning through your stack.
Where it really shines is long mining sessions and hardcore cave dives. You can sprint down fresh tunnels with your pick swinging, and Smart Auto-Torch quietly locks in a safe return path behind you. When you’re chasing ores, dodging skeletons, or running low on food, not having to think about lighting is huge. And if you’re building a spooky base or doing redstone work where you actually want the dark, there’s a built-in kill switch: just rename a stick to “Torch Off,” hold it in your main hand, and the addon instantly shuts up until you’re ready to flip it back on.
On servers and Realms, Smart Auto-Torch Mod is one of those low-key quality-of-life addons that everyone gets used to fast. Caves stay clean, branches are marked without effort, and nobody argues over “who forgot to light this tunnel” anymore—the game just handles it while you focus on mining, fighting, and grabbing loot.
